Kora Living Turns Black Friday into Solidarity Energy for Africa and Accelerates Its Expansion in Spain

18/11 Bilbao 2 min
The hospitality brand will allocate 10% of its direct bookings to the EKI Foundation during Black Friday, supporting solar energy projects in Sub-Saharan African communities. At the same time, it strengthens its national presence with new openings in Tenerife, Valencia, and Andorra

This Black Friday, Kora Living flips the script on impulsive consumption and proposes a different approach: traveling with purpose. Under the slogan “This year we’re not traveling for less, we’re traveling for something more,” the company launches the campaign “Travel for Good – 0% OFF,” through which it will donate 10% of all direct bookings and 3% of OTA bookings made between November 13 and December 9 to the EKI Foundation, an organization developing solar energy projects in Sub-Saharan African communities where access to electricity remains a daily challenge.

With this initiative, Kora Living reaffirms its commitment to a responsible and conscious hospitality model that seeks to create real and lasting impact beyond the travel experience. As Kepa Apraiz, CEO of Kora Living, explains: “Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond rhetoric: we want every action of the brand to generate a positive consequence for the community.”

Beyond its social purpose, the campaign also represents a statement of intent regarding the brand’s direction. Kora Living is committed to a long-term positioning strategy based on consistency and the value of experience, as opposed to aggressive discount practices that often undermine product quality and condition consumer behavior. In the words of Elisa Pelayo, Marketing Director at Kora Living: “This campaign reflects our vision of sustainable growth: we don’t build our competitiveness on discounts, but on creating authentic and long-lasting relationships with our guests. Being competitive also means staying true to what we represent as a brand.”

Energy that Transforms Lives

The EKI Foundation, founded by José Galíndez, promotes access to clean energy through photovoltaic solar installations in schools, hospitals, and local communities. With more than 160 projects in 20 countries, its model combines social financing and technical training, ensuring the autonomy of beneficiary entities. Thanks to its collaboration with Kora Living, every reservation made during Black Friday will translate into energy that powers education, healthcare, and local development.

“Support from brands like Kora Living allows us to expand our reach and accelerate change in areas where lack of electricity limits opportunities. Each solar installation represents a school that can continue teaching, a hospital that can keep operating, or a community that can progress,” says Ignacio Mingo, Director of Fundación EKI.

A Year of Growth and New Openings

The solidarity initiative comes at a time of significant expansion for Kora Living. Following the recent opening of Kora Kiliki (Pamplona), the brand’s first flex living complex in Navarra, Kora Living will open Kora Tigot (Tenerife) on December 1, its second beach complex on the island.

Located in Amarilla Golf (San Miguel de Abona), Kora Tigot will feature 88 apartments, wellness areas, coworking spaces, pools, and sustainable design inspired by the local environment. Its architecture follows principles of energy efficiency, water reuse, and zero-kilometer operational practices.

Looking ahead, Kora Living will continue its national and international expansion with new projects that reinforce its conscious hospitality model. On the 2026 roadmap is the launch of the brand’s first project in Andorra and the opening of the flex living Kora Lluna (Valencia) in March 2026—milestones that will further advance its strategy of geographic diversification.

“Our expansion plan maintains the same philosophy with which the brand was created: growing sustainably, without losing our connection to the environment or the essence of each destination,” explains Kepa Apraiz, CEO of Kora Living. “Our goal is to consolidate a network of conscious accommodations that combine design, flexibility, and purpose, reaching 2,500 units by 2027.

With initiatives like this, Kora Living strengthens its position as a benchmark in responsible, purpose-driven hospitality, demonstrating that growth and positive impact can move forward hand in hand.
