Kora Tigot: Kora Living’s New Volcanic‑Inspired Resort Opens in Tenerife
Tenerife, December 9, 2025 – On December 1, Kora Tigot officially opened its doors. This new resort by Kora Living, located in San Miguel de Abona, is designed as a contemporary tribute to the volcanic landscape and Atlantic character of the Canary Islands. Nestled in Amarilla Golf, one of the island’s top golf courses and just steps from the marina, the resort is set to become a benchmark for conscious living in the archipelago and one of the most distinctive destinations in southern Tenerife.
Featuring 88 one- and two-bedroom apartments, spacious terraces, and a comprehensive range of services, Kora Tigot strengthens the brand’s presence in one of Spain’s most dynamic tourism markets. Its opening marks a key milestone in Kora Living’s expansion strategy in the Canary Islands, following the continued success of Kora Nivaria Beach, which boasts over 90% annual occupancy and guest ratings above 9.
A resort designed for outdoor living and capturing the island’s essence
Kora Tigot offers a wide range of open-air spaces crafted to foster a connection with nature and a relaxed lifestyle: a pool bar with breakfast service, a lagoon-style pool, a semi-Olympic lap pool, a jacuzzi, and generous outdoor areas designed for relaxation, socializing, or even remote work in a tranquil setting.
Starting December 15, Kora Living will launch a curated experience program that will gradually expand, with the aim of immersing guests in local culture. The first activities include Wake Up Yoga sessions and wellness treatments.
Just a few steps from the resort, the San Miguel Marina offers even more, including water sports, boat excursions, and access to one of Tenerife’s top diving spots. All this in a privileged location: seafront, close to key services like the airport and Hospital Sur, with the Teide National Park as a breathtaking backdrop.
Island-inspired architecture, Atlantic interiors, and native landscaping
Kora Tigot is more than a resort—it’s a statement of intent. A project that reinterprets the topography, light, and mineral contrasts of the Canary Islands without imposing on the land.
The architectural design, created by Makin Molowny Portela, is committed to landscape integration, energy efficiency, and a low-impact volumetric design that adapts to the terrain in two levels, ensuring visual harmony with the surroundings.
The interior design, led by Febrero Estudio, features terracotta tones, natural fibers, and materials that evoke Atlantic calm, combining simplicity with elegance. Landscape designer Alba Villacampa has curated a garden that blends native species, coastal plants, and subtropical varieties chosen for their low water needs. The result is a green space that enhances freshness, biodiversity, and visual continuity with the island’s natural environment.
The resort also embraces advanced sustainability principles: efficient thermal insulation, energy recovery systems, greywater and rainwater reuse, and the use of locally sourced materials, all aligned with Kora Living’s environmental roadmap.
The name “Kora Tigot” draws from the cultural tradition of Macaronesia, the region that includes Tenerife and whose etymology comes from the Greek words makarios (“the happy”) and nesos (“islands”). From this imagery — tied to volcanic landscapes, luminous skies, and an almost mystical character — comes a name that evokes well‑being, refuge, and connection with the Atlantic nature. Tigot synthesizes this vision: a place where the experience is elevated and where the identity of the surroundings inspires every detail.
A decisive step in the conscious living model in the Canary Islands
The opening of Kora Tigot marks an important milestone in establishing Kora Living’s conscious living model in the Canary Islands, a key region in the brand’s growth strategy. Following the success of Kora Nivaria Beach — one of the most highly rated properties in the south of the island — the new resort expands the company’s presence in an archipelago where design, climate, and natural richness allow for a hospitality proposal deeply connected to the environment and outdoor living.
“Kora Tigot represents a decisive step in our strategy to consolidate a model of conscious hospitality in the Canary Islands. This resort reflects our vision: accommodations that respond to new ways of traveling, integrate respectfully with their surroundings, add value to the community, and offer experiences connected to nature and local culture. Its opening reinforces our commitment to the archipelago as a priority destination and to growth based on sustainability, design, and authenticity,” says Kepa Apraiz, CEO of Kora Living.
The company is already working on two new beachfront complexes in Los Gigantes and Lanzarote, planned for 2027 with an additional 250 units, reinforcing its commitment to a flexible, sustainable hospitality model aligned with local identity.
